Winter is just around the corner
Please check your chimneys and wood burners. Local chimney sweeps can usually be found in local papers. In previous winters fires have been caused by flying embers from chimneys. Don’t take the chance.
Also time to check your drains and gutters. A good clean out may prevent an unwanted flood.
Have you thought about your windscreen wipers? After a long hot summer a lot of them will have shredded. Time for a check 
Some town halls require you to have a permit to burn even when the fire season is over (15th October but may be extended depending on the weather) so check first or risk a heavy fine.
