Update via Javea Town Hall on Ukraine Campaign

by Loraine Gostling

Regarding the current campaign to collect emergency material for the Ukrainian people, The Town Hall has issued this update…

“The collection will start on 9th March and -initially- will last until 18th March. It will be centralised in the Casal Foguerer (located on the ground floor in the Plaza Constitución) and will be coordinated by the Civil Protection volunteers.

Local Police will also collaborate with a mailbox at the police station in case it is impossible for someone to make a donation during the official collection point hours. In order for help to be as useful as possible, we have chosen to focus on products that are extremely necessary: hygiene and sanitary material, especially first aid.

We ask for the maximum cooperation from the public in this humanitarian aid action and the fulfilment of the requirements set out: unopened containers and in the case of hygiene, small format containers to facilitate distribution. We will not be collecting other types of materials (neither textiles nor food) as we have been informed that, at present, the demand is sufficiently covered.”
