Javea is getting ready for the premiere this weekend of the new Arenal Blues festival, which will be held on the Arenal promenade.
The five concerts are completely free and will delight fans of rhythm & blues.
The music starts on Friday evening (at 20:00) with the stage in the central area (next to the Octopus). Opening the festival will be Tamy & The Sweet Band, a young band with roots in the Marina Alta.
On Saturday, the festival resumes at 6 p.m. in the southern area of the promenade (near Fontana) with three groups: Georgie & The Fire Lights, Los Fabulosos Blueshakers and Graham Foster Blues Band.
The leader of the Graham Foster Blues Band is the legendary Graham Foster, a musician, discovered by Elton John and who has played with Etta James and in iconic bands such as Oasis and bands such as Oasis and Mclan. Graham now resides in the Marina Alta, which brings us the opportunity to enjoy his music.
The programme will be rounded off with a final concert on Sunday at 12 noon at the south end by the quartet the Altea Blues Project.
This festival is the cultural complement for a weekend in which several cities have a public holidaybank holiday for Sant Josep.
