The quick and effective intervention of an officer has been the key to assist a baby who suffered a medical emergency on a street in Javea.
The incident occurred in the vicinity of the “Graüll” school, while officers were preparing for the afternoon school dismissal, when they noticed that a woman in an extreme nervous state and calling for help, with her son in her arms, unconscious and showing symptoms of asphyxia.
The officers immediately began maneuvers to open the baby’s airway and give him first aid, while requesting support from dispatch.
Thanks to the officer’s training and quick reaction, the baby began breathing and regained consciousness.
Immediately thereafter, another patrol car arrived on the scene and transported the baby and his mother to the health centre for medical evaluation.
