This year the event coincides this year with the Valentine’s Day weekend, highlighting the beauty of the message it conveys.
La Cursa de la Dona is a solidarity race, and this year it has been decided to donate the funds raised to the association Aldis, located in Paiporta, which works with people with disabilities to improve their inclusion, quality of life, dignity and family values.
We want to do our bit through the donations generated by this special sporting event
This association has suffered serious losses due to the DANA in Valencia, losing its headquarters and materials as it is located next to the river.”
Madeleine Powell, president of the Llebeig Club, explained that the race will start at 10:00 am on the athletics track, on the beach, and will be held in the city centre with a route of just over 5 km that can be done by running or walking.
Registration opened on 7th January and can be done online at www.somesport.com or physically at the Palau Municipal Esports (only in the morning), at the DECUERO leather shop in the old town and at Inmobiliaria Llidomar.
The donation to participate is 5 €, which includes the race, the race bib (which will be used to participate in a raffle of various products) and the official t-shirt.
Madeleine also wanted to thank all the volunteers, sponsors, as well as the Local Police and Civil Protection for their involvement and encouraged everyone to participate and not to wait until the last minute to register.
Both men and women can register, and there will be a trophy for the first three to cross the finish line, as well as a special gift for the youngest and oldest participant.
