The suspension of the granting of tourist certificates in Dénia has been published in the Official Journal of the Generalitat Valenciana (DOGV). This measure (No. 9933) announces the blocking of the creation of new tourist rental licences throughout the urban area.
This precautionary measure with a duration of one year, renewable, hadthe support of all groups represented in the City Council.
The purpose of the suspension is to buy enough time to rethink the model of tourist rentals that the city wants and to present the final package of measures after evaluating the studies commissioned by the University of Alicante.
As of 11th September new tourist licences will not be accepted in the city and new applications will not obtain this certificate, which is essential to obtain the license.
However, all applications submitted previously and that were being evaluated will not be affected by the suspension.
