The residents of La Plana in Javea are, once again, alarmed by a situation that occurs every summer day due to young people who attend a nightclub located in the Montgó Natural Park.
The nightclub, located far from the urban center, is mainly accessible by car, but many attendees choose to return on foot, which has created dangerous situations on the narrow and winding road that connects to the urban area.
The mornings after the nights of partying, drivers and neighbors have reported the presence of pedestrians invading the road, even blocking traffic. The road, with a lack of visibility due to its numerous curves and no shoulder, becomes a dangerous scene when drivers are surprised by groups of young people walking without caution. Some drivers have noted that these situations put both pedestrians and motorists at risk.
In addition, irresponsible acts by young people have been reported, such as placing stones on the road, which has caused risky situations for vehicles. These acts sometimes aim to force drivers to take them to the Javea town centre. In one particular case, a group of young people boarded a trailer, surprising the driver when they arrived at the town.
Some groups choose is to go down the Puchol path, generating noise and disturbing the peace with chants, shouts and provocating dogs in the area. The neighbours assure that these annoyances are constant and affect their rest, describing the situation as a daily problem between 1 and 5 or 6 in the morning that needs to be addressed.
After last Wednesday’s party, there was a police presence. The patrols have ensured that the episodes reported by the neighbours and users of this road did not occur. Even so, the young people invaded the road that leads to Cabo San Antonio, while they waited to return home, with some drivers having to avoid them.
