Yesterday, Tuesday, March 1st, the Ministry of Health and health representatives from the various Autonomous Communities held a meeting of the Public Health Commission to discuss the end of mandatory quarantines for those who have been in close contact of infected people.
Isolation in these cases had been maintained for the unvaccinated who had to quarantine for 10 days. This has had most impact in schools. Until now, isolation was decreed for the entire class when there has been five or more infected.
Elimination of isolation in close contact.
So, after the meeting, the Commission has decided that such quarantines will be eliminated in case of having been in close contact as of Saturday, March 5th . Now, in schools ( as well as other high population establishments) only the people actually testing positive will need to isolate.
However, regarding quarantines in case of those infected, there is no change . For now, this measure is still in force and continues to be seven days or 10 if symptoms persist.
In terms of masks, the withdrawal of their mandatory nature in closed spaces is increasingly being commented on. Although this still remains, in the Valencian Community, the president of the Generalitat announced the end of the face mask outdoors last week.
