Located about 300 metres above sea level at the top of Monte Pedreguer since 1998 (an area also known as the Muntanya de Pedreguer,) is an artificial (not natural) mirador worthy of a visit for the beautiful views it offers over much of the Marina Alta.
It is the so-called “Mirador de Mirabarques”, a kind of monument which is actually a metal structure that supports a semicircular wooden platform of about 18 metres in diameter. This was the work of the architect Lourdes GarcÃa Sogo that offers a viewpoint or terrace from which to observe the imposing Montgó Massif, the beautiful Serra de Segà ria (the sleeping giant), the nearby windmills of Gata de Gorgos and Pedreguer, and even a sea view.
