Very sad news came in on Wednesday evening announcing that an 84-year-old man had died and a woman has been seriously injured in an accident on Wednesday afternoon in Benitachell.
According to sources of the Guardia Civil, the accident occurred around five o’clock in the afternoon on the CV-740 road. In the incident, a Mercedes car, driven by a 48-year-old British woman, crashed violently into the facade of the gas station store. Tragically, two customers who were at the site were hit by the vehicle, which drove through the store and out the opposite side.
The driver was unharmed, but an 84-year-old man died in the accident and a 51-year-old woman was taken in serious condition to the hospital in Denia with a fractured tibia and fibula.
At the moment, the authorities are investigating the causes that have led to this tragic event.
