The Department of Animal Welfare, directed by Fatima Jarjor, has awarded a contract to control cat colonies by veterinary sterilisation
The contract has been awarded to one of the local vets who offered a 5% discount on the unit price of the services: sterilisation of male and female cats and chip implantation.
This contract will be developed over the next eight months and will involve a maximum outlay of 38.000 euros, which will be paid based on the services performed by this veterinarian each month.
Fátima Jarjor stated that it shows commitment of the local government to the control of the municipality’s cat colonies, a job in which volunteer associations play an important and fundamental role.
The councilor is already working on the preparation of specifications for veterinary assistance and emergency services, work for which she has had the advice of local practices.
