Both festivities have been presented today to kick off the new year.
The programmes begin on Saturday, January 14th at noon with the transfer of the Pine tree from the Plaza de la Constitución to Calle San Antonio, where at 8:00 p.m. the XXIII cremà del Pi de Sant Antoni will be accompanied by music and the distribution of fruit and mistela for attendees.
On Sunday 15th January, the festival will continue with a popular lunch at the Tirasset headquarters (C/Sant Antoni) and at 10 am all participants will gather and the parade of carriages and horses will go through the town and the port. At around 1:00 p.m. there will be the blessing of animals and distribution of blessed rolls in the Plaza de la Constitución.
La Burrera rock also celebrates Sant Antoni. Both with the Fira i Porrat that it organises for children and the blessing of pets on the day of Sant Antoni, January 17th, on the Joaquín Sorolla promenade. That day there will be a parade through Duanes, solemn mass at 12 noon and then a procession to Paseo de La Grava where the parish priest will bless all pets.
As a call to the fiesta, on the morning of Saturday 14th January, the festeros will also parade through Duanes.
On Friday, January 13th the fair will open on Avenida de Palmela, this will be active until February 5th and there will be chocolate on Friday, January 20th and Children’s Day -27th January– (with affordable prices).
After Sant Antoni comes Sant Sebastià, the patron saint of Javea. The religious section is organised by the Commission and the Mayorales of 2023 and is on Friday, January 20th. There will be despertà and parades during the morning to distribute coca maría and mistela and in the afternoon a visit the niches dedicated to the patron saint- and at 8:00 p.m., the solemn mass.
The commission will also offer a storyteller on Saturday, January 21st at 10:30 am in the Sala Polivalent and a mobile disco in Plaça de Baix when the bull performances organised by the Bullfighting Cultural Association finish.
Because the bulls also return to the Historic Centre during the weekend of January 20 to 22, with shows on Friday afternoon and evening, Saturday morning, afternoon and evening, and Sunday morning and afternoon. In addition, this last day there will be wagons for the little ones.
And the festive program will close with the Sant Sebastià Patró de Xàbia Cycling Trophy, which is part of the Volta Ciclista a la Marina and will be held on Sunday 29 in the morning.
