Javea’s new government – list of councillors and responsibilities

After the new government team was formed last Saturday with the vote in favour of Ciudadanos, PP and VOX,the town has a tripartite government for this legislature, under new mayoress Rosa Cardona.

A total of 11 councillors -8 from the PP, 2 from CpJ and 1 from VOX now start work. But, what are the powers that each councillor will be in charge of?

Rosa Cardona states that the policy of the new government of Javea is to develop focuses on “work, work and work” and has stressed that “we are a government that, from honesty, will always watch over the interest of our neighbours “.

The three parties “have agreed on the best professional profiles for each of the delegations” so that “the impulse that the City Council needs can be given and that it can be visible to all citizens”, Cardona added.

The mayoress has nominated Enrique Escrivá to be her “right hand man” He will be the spokesman for the local government and has remarked that “Escrivá is a good spokesperson and will always be by my side.”

  • Enrique Escrivá: Housing, Human Resources (Personnel), Patrimony, Transparency, Strategic projects and aid and Citizen Participation. He will also be the government spokesman.
  • Fatima JarjorServicios Sociales, Senior Citizens, Health, Animal Welfare, Youth, Childhood and Equality and neighbourhood El Plana.
  • Antonio Molina: Sports, Residents, Frechinal neighborhood and urbanizations, Digitization and New Technologies and Internal Regime.
  • Pere Joan Sapena: Urbanism, Works and Urban Agenda.
  • JuanLu Cardona: Economic Promotion (Economic Activities), Historic Centre neighbourhood, Economic Revitalisation, Entrepreneurship, Employment, Environment and Ecological Transition, Markets and Fairs.
