With the arrival of December, Javea will be immersed in festivities in honour of Santa Bárbara and Santa Llúcia, which begin this Sunday, December 3rd (Santa Bárbara) and continue on Tuesday 12 and Wednesday 13 December, (Santa Llúcia).
On Sunday 3rd December will be the festivity dedicated to Santa Bárbara in San Bartolomé church
On the 12th of December the festeros will make the traditional “cridà a la festa” from 7.30 p.m. onwards with a parade in the church of San Bartolomé.
19.30 hours: Parade accompanied by music, during which they will distribute coca maría and mistela. When passing through C/Santa Llúcia there will be a small offering in the niche of the image and a fireworks display.
On the day of Santa Llúcia (13th December) the day will begin with an awakening at 8 a.m. and at 10 a.m. a firework will be lit.
At 8 a.m. and at 10 a.m., the authorities and festival goers will leave the church in pilgrimage to the hermitage, where a mass will be held at 11 am.
