The 20th Anniversary
Starting with the one which will serve as the official presentation of the festival. “Eixa”, a project by the Valencian performer and composer Isabel Latorre on Friday 22 April, at 8 p.m. in the Casa de la Cultura.
In May, the curtain will be raised on the Plaza de la Constitución stage, with Carlos Núñez and La Xafigà (13 May at 10.30 p.m.), a prestigious soloist along with one of the most emblematic folk groups in the country, which they hope will attract local audiences and serve as an attraction for people from other areas during that weekend.
The other show will be led by Gani Mirzo, a musician with Kurdish roots, whose oriental melodies are fused with flamenco and jazz through instruments such as the lute, the buzzing buzzer and other instruments such as the lute, the buzuk and the Spanish guitar. His project “La ruta de la Dignity” is committed to refugees fleeing from war (a significant part of his cache goes to the refugee camp in Duhok), a situation that is sadly still very topical today, also in Europe.
The festival will close, as usual, with an intimate performance in the chapel of Santa Llúcia, this year starring Carol Duran and Nuria Lozano, two artists who have played a key role in the creation and composition of Catalan music.
As usual, all the concerts are free of charge.
