Javea Council has approved a 17% reduction in the IBI tax rate

by Loraine Gostling

Yesterday morning, Javea Town Council held an extraordinary plenary session focused on economic matters.

One of the most far-reaching agreements that will have the greatest positive impact on local taxpayers, was the agreement to lower the tax rate with which the IBI is calculated, which will mean that next year all bills will be reduced by 17%. lower than in 2021.

The measure has gone ahead with the votes of the PSPV, PP, Ciudadanos por Jávea and Ciudadanos, while Compromís voted against.

The session also saw a green light other technical and managerial modifications in taxation matters, but these will not entail any change in the valuation of taxes and are aimed at facilitating access to discounts or the payment of outstanding debts.
