“La Fira Gata al Carrer” returns with an array of commercial and gastronomic offerings on 12th and 13th October.
This traditional event will be held again in 2024, bringing the streets of Gata de Gorgos to life with local shops, centenary crafts, gastronomic offerings and all the many town customs.
Year after year, the fair offers the opportunity to discover the variety of local commerce: from craft shops, furniture and hats etc., that have made Gata a notable tourist destination.
Gastronomic Fair
Food lovers will have a special place at the fair. Visitors can buy and sample local products such as panses, mistela, coques, pa socarrat, bambes, bescuits, and much more, all made by Gata bakeries.
In addition, the town’s butchers will offer a wide variety of traditional sausages, including botifarres, blanquets, sobrasadas and salsitxes.
Exquisite wine tastings will also be held on both days, providing a complete experience of the culinary richness of Gata de Gorgos.
Crafts and Trade
Exhibitors will also display a variety of items including furniture and decoration, clothing, costume jewellery, perfumery, ceramics, photography, and even pet products. In addition, NGOs from different fields will be taking part in the Solidarity Market, promoting solidarity and social awareness.
Cultural and Leisure Activities
Art and culture will play a leading role with artistic installations of “4 al carrer”, the exhibition “art al vent”, and photographic exhibitions that will brighten the streets.
Musical performances, concerts and traditional dances will add a festive touch to the fair.
There will also be workshops on music, furniture restoration, wine tasting, dancing and painting, inviting visitors to take an active and fun part in the fair.
A children’s area has been created with a spectacular amusement park, along with a new area called La Granja, where they will be able to see unique animals and enjoy direct contact with nature.
