Discover La Fustera Beach

by JC Admin

This small beach of fine sand is framed by protective rocky ledges, with vegetation that extends practically to the seafront and crystalline seabeds in which there lies meadows of “posidonia oceanica” thus guaranteeing the proliferation of varied marine wildlife.

The beach also has a beach bar, bathrooms, children’s games, a picnic area, a lifeguard, nautical activities and access for people with mobility difficulties.

Nearby is the the 10 metre high Cova de la Fustera, where you can see a magnificent view of both the Benissa coastline and the Peñón de Ifach.

In this area there is a plant micro-reserve in which species such as thyme and cat’s head jarilla (a small spherical bush with flower buds reminiscent of a cat’s head) are in abundance.

A few metres away is the “Casa dels Cents Vents” centre that houses the Benissa Playa tourist office, an extension of the police and health centre, as well as the Aula del Mar (activities of environmental awareness related to the sea.)

Amphibious chair and crutch service for adapted bathing are available from June 15th to September 14th, Monday to Friday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and lifeguard service from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.

It has been granted various environmental distinctions such as the Blue Flag, the Ecoplayas award and has implemented an Integrated Management System in compliance with ISO 9001 and 14001 standards.
