Aena is sanctioning 15 airports to undertake this service that aims to facilitate the return to origin of passengers and tourists from whom results are required at destination or to avoid quarantines.
The testing centres will be located in the departure areas and will perform tests mainly on passengers who will need them at the destination airport , not for those who land at those airports, who have to bring them from origin to pass the health controls.
They will be installed in 15 airports, those with more international or more tourist traffic: Adolfo Suárez Madrid-Barajas, Josep Tarradellas Barcelona-El Prat, Malaga-Costa del Sol, Alicante-Elche, Valencia, Seville, Bilbao, Palma de Mallorca, Ibiza, Menorca, Tenerife South, Gran Canaria, Fuerteventura, César Manrique-Lanzarote and La Palma.
They will have an area to carry out the test and waiting and isolation areas , and must preserve the privacy of the passenger. If a positive result is detected after carrying out a PDIA for SARS-CoV-2, the health alert protocols established by the health authorities of the autonomous communities will be activated .
Requirements: non-abusive prices and health authorization
Aena requires that the price of the tests be competitive and adequate , it cannot be abusive and it cannot, in any case, be higher than the price of the same tests or services in reference establishments. In fact, the winners of the service have been the companies that have made a greater discount in the prices of the tests , which will be updated every month.
They will have a phone number and / or a web page to make reservations and they must report the waiting time for receiving the result before taking the test, in order for the outgoing passenger to schedule it based on the time of the flight.
