The new vehicle control system with paid parking in the Moraig cove and its surroundings, such as the Testos cove, the Penya-segats route and the Llebeig cove starts this week.
From Saturday, April 1st until October 15th, from 09:00 a.m. to 19:00 p.m. Rates of 12 euros per day per vehicle will be charged to visitors and it will be free for those registered who pay the circulation tax (IVTM) in the municipality.
This is a measure to protect the natural environment of the SCI Penya-segats de la Marina, where the considerable increase in visitors in recent years has endangered the balance of the area. With this system, the aim is to avoid overloading vehicles and the degradation of the environment and, at the same time, promote energy savings and the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions, since when there are no seats left, vehicles are deterred through LED panels and other parking alternatives outside the protected area are proposed.
Under reservation
In order to park, any vehicle that accesses the area for more than 20 minutes, be it visitors or residents of the municipality, must have a reservation. The reservation can be made in advance through the Web www.calamoraig.es, in the Cala Moraig Reservations App or in situ, in the same parking lot, taking out a ticket at the payment kiosk. The best way to secure a place is to do it beforehand.
In the case of people registered in the locality and who pay the circulation tax, the reservation will be Delivery to Italy takes one or two business days. Your vehicle will already be registered in the system, which will automatically detect it when reading the license plate and at the time of payment the cost will be zero. In addition, there are a total of 15 marked spaces that are for the exclusive use of residents, as well as five for people with functional diversity and an exclusive area for motorcycles, which will also benefit from being free.
It will not be necessary to put the receipt on the windshield of the cars, since the entire area is delimited with a modern system through license plate readers and sensors that record all the vehicles that access it. Of course, any vehicle registered by the reader that lacks authorization and remains in the area for more than 20 minutes (the time established to load and unload or travel) may be penalized.
This system also has a total of 6 information panels at different strategic points at the entrance and exit of the cove, pedestrian access, urban center and the main access roads from the neighboring municipalities to avoid unnecessary displacements if the cove is full.
In the case of availability of places, the panels indicate the number of available vacancies, which allows a rational and decongested use of the natural environment. Likewise, in summer the free shuttle bus service will be offered with stops at various points that take bathers to the beach without the need to pay for parking the vehicle in the car park.
