Jalon valley rally date announced
THE ENTHRALLING MC Bernia car rally returns to the mountains on Saturday 21 April, and promises to be as riveting as ever, as cars travel at breath-taking speeds up the Coll de Rates and past the Sierra Bernia. There is also a stage from Lliber towards Gata de Gorgos. With a diverse range of cars, from full rally specification to an original Fiat 500, this is an event not to be missed. Roads will be open between stages, giving the public an ideal opportunity to move between sections during the day. Scrutinising takes place at 17:00 in Jalon on Friday 20 April, and the full rally departs from Jalon at 08:00 on 21 April, with the Coll de Rates (from Parcent) being the first stage at 08:15, and then the Bernia and Lliber stages in the afternoon.
Timings are as follows:
Stage 1: Coll de Rates 08:55
Stage 2: Coll de Rates 12:05
Stage 3: Jalon to Bernia 15:50
Stage 4: Lliber to Gata 16:40
Stage 5: Jalon to Bernia 18:25
Stage 6: Lliber to Gata 19:15
Roads will be closed at least an hour before each stage, to enable the course to be checked. The Bernia stage ends 2 km from Pinos at the Bernia side, and parking is possible, although limited. The best advice is to arrive very early before each stage. In between the Coll de Rates and Jalon to Bernia stages, the roads will be reopened, but this is not the case for Lliber, which will remain closed between the two stages. As spectators are allowed to stand right next to the action, it is advisable to keep children at a safe distance and height from any danger.
