Benidorm Municipal Market
The biggest and most popular market in the city, the municipal market, takes place every Wednesday and Sunday. Also known as ‘El Pueblo’ because it takes place next to Hotel Servigroup Pueblo on Avenida de L’Almirall Bernat de Sania, it carries an absolutely mind boggling range of goods – from clothes, bags and shoes to souvenirs and house decorations. There is also hot food and snacks served up around the market, so if you want a break from all that shopping, there’s plenty of opportunity to put your feet up and indulge in a few churros, with a side order of people watching.
Like most markets, El Pueblo opens early in the morning (8am) and closes around lunch time before the hottest part of the day. To get the best choice of goods, head down for opening time, but if you had a late night, there’s plenty of time to browse after a lie in.
Benidorm Market in Foites
The imaginatively named Benidorm market is thought to be the oldest market in the city, and is an entirely different experience to the Municipal Market. Comparable to UK farmer’s markets (except with better weather), stalls selling brightly coloured fruit and vegetables and local meats and cheese are sure to tempt even the pickiest eater, and grabbing a few bits for a picnic on the beach makes for a quintessentially Spanish experience. The Benidorm Market takes on Wednesdays from 8.30am – 2.00pm, next to Guillermo Amor sports centre.
Flea Market
On the outskirts of Benidorm at the weekends, an entirely different market takes place. This is a traditional flea market, where you might find everything and anything for sale, from vintage clothing to bric a brac and old books.
