This tragic story, we know for sure, has touched many hearts in Javea over the last week.
Debbie Clarke, owner of Cortado’s Cafe in Javea port, has given so much to the community over the years and now, as her friend, Louise has rightly said in this appeal ” Now it’s time for us to all pull together and help her.”
If you can spare a few euros, this is the worthiest cause Javea Connect has seen locally for a long time.
Louise explains the sad situation and the reason why this Gofundme Page has been set up.
“Hi my name is Louise and I am fundraising for a very special lady Debbie from Cortado’s Cafe in Javea.
As lots of you are aware Deb tragically lost her beautiful daughter Meg in late September at the early age of 35. Meg left behind two gorgeous kids, Max who is 14 and Sophie who is only 3 years old. Sophie was born at 26 weeks, weighed only 1 lb 10oz and was born with three holes in her heart and chronic lung disease. She has had 3 major heart operations and had a pacemaker fitter. She is also fed through a gastric tube. As a result of these conditions she cannot use air travel.
Meg had always stated to Debbie that if she passed first could some of her ashes be bought to Spain and scattered in all the places she and her mum and Max used to love to visit. I want to raise funds to make this possible.
A road trip in a Camper Van would allow for Sophie and Max to travel to Spain and for then Debbie to be with her Grandchildren whilst they fulfil her daughters wishes on scattering her ashes here. Debbie works her socks off for numerous charities here and now it’s time for us to all pull together and help her.”
We, at Javea Connect ask readers to support Debbie, either by adding a few euros on the Gofundme fundraiser, or you can pop in to Cortado’s with a little envelope, or drop your contribution to Nicola at Heaven Boutique in the Plaza (behind Buddha Palace) on the Avenida del Pla.)
