HELP DESPERATELY NEEDED BY THE LOCAL FIRE-WATCH TEAM

by Loraine Gostling

I know many of you will recall the terrible fires in Javea in 2016 and the wonderful job that the Local Fire and Weather-Watch group did during that awful time.

Well , their team need help and it only entails a few hours a week, not a constant vigilance. Jill, who formed the group 6 years ago, and has been at its beck and call ever since, explains on the site today……..

“Sorry everyone but sadly there have not been any volunteers to help on the groups.
Therefore we will have to reduce the number of hours we cover. Until we have more help we will be doing: 10:30 until 12:00, 13:00 until 14:30, 15:30 until 17:00, 18:00 until 19:30 and only generally keeping an eye on the groups between 20:00 and 23:00.
There are just not enough of us to do any more without it continuing to affect our private lives. (which it has on and off since 2012!)
If anyone would like to help us, send me a personal message ( via Facebook page here. ) We will teach you what we do and how we do it. If you think you can commit yourself to 1 or 2 hours a day for 5 or 6 days a week then we need you!
Outside the times an admin is monitoring the groups/Twitter etc we will be relying on members providing information on incidents. “

If you read the pinned post n the group, it really explains how they work and what is expected. Link here  ( you will need to be a member to read the post)

Please, if you have a couple of hours each day when you can just keep your phone well charged and watch for any official or local alarms, you will be really appreciated.
