La Guardia Civil has arrested a 32-year-old man of Spanish nationality as the alleged perpetrator of 33 burglaries in homes in Jávea.
The investigation, which began in December 2023, led to the identification of the suspect and resulted in his arrest, following a house search where various stolen items were found.

Since the end of 2023, an increase in burglaries were detected in homes near one of Jávea’s main roads. The attacks followed a common pattern: the perpetrator gained access to the homes by climbing and forcing the locks on the windows while the owners were away.
Officers from the Jávea Civil Guard Investigation Unit took over the investigation, conducting a series of discreet surveillance operations to find the perpetrator. However, identification was hampered by the fact that, after each robbery, the suspect would disappear for days or weeks.
Despite this, thanks to exhaustive monitoring and analysis, investigators were finally able to identify him, which led to the final step toward his arrest on March 4th.
However, some of the stolen items have not been recovered, as it is suspected that they were sold after committing the robberies.
The detainee, who is charged with 33 counts of burglary, already has numerous prior convictions for similar offenses.
