Mohamed, a 39-year-old Moroccan, ended the life of David Lledós with a baseball bat in Gata de Gorgos last weekend. This criminal had already been in prison in Catalonia for several months and was a repeat offender. The victim had reproached this man days before because he was harassing several women.
The crime appeared to have been pre-meditated, as he waited for David to leave his tattoo studio to beat him to death, according to police sources informing Vozpópuli. The profile of this Moroccan was well known to agents of the Alicante Civil Guard. He was involved in “all the trouble” in the town of Gata de Gorgos. Many of his actions were not reported due to fear of reprisals.
He did not hide, he even boasted, that he had spent a few months in prison in Catalonia. Furthermore, he always went in a gang with some of his compatriots, who were also arrested for David’s murder but were subsequently released.
The violence of David’s murder
One of the men who stood up to him was David Lledós, 39, when he previously accused Mohamed of harassing several women. The discussion, with moments of tension, did not escalate on that occasion. But Mohamed was simmering his revenge. The chosen day was last Saturday, when he, along with two friends, committed the crime in the vicinity of the tattoo store. He took advantage of David going out to get a bottle of water to hit him hard on the head with a baseball bat.
When the victim was on the ground he attacked him repeatedly. Witnesses could do nothing to save his life. The investigation by the Civil Guard quickly bore fruit and within a few moments Mohamed and two of his companions, who were accompanying him at the time the crime took place, were arrested.
On Monday the three were brought to justice in The Investigative Court number 2 of Denia, where provisional imprisonment was decreed for Mohamed for the murder. One of his friends was released with precautionary measures of withdrawal of passport and periodic appearance before the court. The third of them was released as investigated but without measures. All three are being investigated for homicide.
Mohamed’s criminal career in Alicante
Both Mohamed and the other two cronies had carried out attacks. They lived in a house in which they had previously squatted.
The victim’s wife has told the media that David was murdered and everything was planned. One of them even got into his car without permission, just to intimidate them. Witnesses to the homicide reported that Mohamed beat the victim viciously. In addition, they tried to threaten several people so that they would not be identified in court.
