The massive Easter storm has been dropping torrential rain this afternoon in the Marina Alta area, with a multitude of emergencies attended by firefighters dealing with floods, falling trees, facades and signage.
The situation has worsened since 5 pm today, when thunder and lightening hit throughout the region. Worst hit have been Dénia and Pedreguer where more than 30 litres have been registered in one hour and water has flooded access roads and streets such as Joan Fuster and Camà Llavador. It also has poured into the Gandia and municipalities of La Safor. Javea traffic also came to a standstill!
Added to this are wind gusts of between 10 and 60 km/h and wild seas with waves reaching up to 3 metres.
