Hundreds of local people have been discussing this fire in Ramblars, Javea, that has been burning now since November and as yet, nothing seems to have been done about it.
I do not often sign petitions but clearly, from the amount of people posting on the Javea Connect group, highlighting the health hazard that this fire has become, and the fact that I can see and smell it myself from quite far away, I think that this situation needs urgent attention by the authorties responsible.
Please sign the petition to help those people suffering from the fumes of this, seemingly everlasting fire. It is in Spanish but the translation follows:-
“IN THE MUNICIPALITY OF JAVEA AND THE SURROUNDING AREAS WE HAVE BEEN SUBMERGED IN THE SMOKE OF RAMBLARS FOR MORE THAN A MONTH DUE TO THE BURNING OF RUBBISH, SUPPOSEDLY GREEN WASTE. THIS IS NOT THE FIRST TIME THIS HAS HAPPENED AND IT HAS NOT BEEN RESOLVED. THE SAD THING IS THAT IT IS AFFECTING PEOPLE’S HEALTH IN TERMS OF ALLERGIES, WE CAN’T VENTILATE OUR HOUSES, AND IF WE GO OUT FOR SPORT, WE ARE FILLING OUR LUNGS WITH POISON. THIS WASTE SHOULD NOT BE ACCUMULATED IN THIS SPACE.”
