Now the weather begins to cool and we can bear to put closed-in shoes on again, we thought we would add a “Walk of the Week” feature to the website.
1 Cala Sardinera – Cap Prim (Javea)

Javea coast offers several route options. Two of them follow practically the same path until a fork divides them to give a choice of routes.
- Follow the path that leads to Cala Sardinera or 2.Continue until you reach the abrupt cliff of Cap Prim.

The starting point in both options is the viewpoint at the Creu del Portitxol. After that, at the junction, you have to turn left, towards Cap Prim, then descend a path and reach (via steps) a wooden railing that closes the way to a small ravine . Then you come to a second crossroads, in which (for both routes) you have to go straight ahead, entering first into a pine forest and then reaching some steps until you see the third crossing, (this time, it will separate both roads) which is well indicated with signage. The straight path will lead to Cap Prim and the one on the left to Cala Sardinera.
Cala Sardinera
At the sign of this third crossing you must follow the left path that leads directly to the first destination. The one in Cala Sardinera is the fastest. In just 30 minutes you can be there and back! If the weather is good, you will want to stay for a while on this small pebble beach and maybe have a swim in its crystal clear waters, as well as enjoy the views of Montgó and Cape Sant Antoni.

Point of Interest: Formerly this was best place for sardines. The fine nets were caulked twice a day, at sunrise and sunset. Hence the origin of the name.
Cap Prim
To get to Cap Prim you have to continue straight at the crossroads, where you will find several paths. It is recommended to take the one that borders the cliff, since from it you can enjoy magnificent views of the Pallers, l’Illa and the Cap Negre.
Located in the bay of Portitxol, Cap Prim is a geological accident with great ecological and landscape value. Here you will find a flora micro reserve with unique plants, among which are the Cheirolophus lagunae , Diplotaxis ibicencis , Limonium regualii and Limonium scopulorum . Due to the fragility of these communities, it is important not to veer from the path or to spoil the plant life in any way.
