Fiestas starting on May 5th

Benitachell celebrates the ‘Fiestas de la Rosa’ in honour of the Virgin of the Rosary during the first 2 weeks in May. The celebration made up of various religious events ( the blessing and distribution of bread to all residents), processions and entertainment including fireworks and dancing displays

SATURDAY, 5 MAY
11: 30 – Dramatised story of “The sleeping beauty of the forest” in the Municipal Market.
13:00 – Bell ringing.
16:30 – Pelota ball game against Benifallim in the ‘Cantonet de Bufó’.
18:30 – Procession and gathering of the festeros accompanied by music.
19:15 – Concentration of the participants of the flower offering.
19:30 – Offering of flowers to the Virgin of the Rose by the participants, accompanied by bands. Followed by traditional dancing in the church square.
00:00 – Music by the ‘Twister group’ in the Plaça les pesqueres.
SUNDAY, MAY 6
08:00 – Mascletas (loud bangers)
10:30 – Gathering of the festeros accompanied by music.
11:00 – Departure from the blessed bread from the oratory to the Church.
11:30 – Mass in honour of the Virgen de la Rosa, sung by the Parroquial Choir. Afterwards, the blessed loaves will be distributed throughout the town.
20:00 – Solemn procession in honour of the Virgin of the Rose, accompanied by music. Afterwards, there will be a firework display.
00:00 – Mobile disco in the Plaça les pesqueres.
MONDAY, MAY 7
08:00 – Awakening by the festeros.
11:00 – Festeros parade accompanied by music.
12:00 – Mass in honour of San Pancracio, sung by the Parroquial Choir.
13:00 – Cockerel racing on Calle La Pau.
14:00 – Paella contest in the streets of Carrer la Pau and Carrer Major.
16:00 – Inflatables in the streets for children.
17:00 – Music by the duo ‘Montecarlo’ in Calle La pau.
18:30 – Popular chocolate drinks in Calle La pau.
There will be a few days break while paddle tennis tournaments take place.
SATURDAY MAY 12
08:00 – Awakening by the festeros.
11:00 – Departure of “Raspall” in the streetLa Pau.
14:00 – Giant Paella for everyone in the streets “La pau” and “Major”
17:00 – Parade of costumes through the streets of the town accompanied by music.
18:00 – Mobile disco in the Plaça les pesqueres.
SATURDAY, MAY 19TH
16:00 – End of fiesta ‘correfocs’
