The Montgó
The first place that comes to mind, and rightly so. You just need to look up to find the best place to take refuge away from the noisy city and spend some relaxing time. The It montgó Dénia is not only a fantastic place to park up and nibble, but it also allows you to hike and get lost in the middle of nature like no other place. In fact, you can take the opportunity to make one of the hiking trails that is recommended by Denia.com.
The Carved Cave
If the Montgó is not isolated enough for what you are looking for, the best choice is the Cova Tallada. You will be able to connect in the same way with nature while enjoying an incredible setting by the sea. In addition, you will be forced to go hiking as the only way to get to the cave is through the route that can only be done on foot.
The Castle
In the heart of Dénia but ideal to disconnect. It seems incredible, but even today the walls of the Castle serve to protect us from what can disturb the peace. Also getting there does not require leaving the main urban area. That is why it has become one of the favourite destinations for the locals in Denia.
The Pinaret d’Elies
Perhaps one of the most unknown places on the list, but during its years of splendour it was visited by many groups looking for a green but accessible place to eat a picnic. This pine forest is located in front of the portland factory and continues to retain its magic despite having fallen somewhat into oblivion of late. Nevertheless, it is still an ideal place to spend an afternoon.
Torre del Gerro
Returning to the Montgó but not the mountain this time – The Torre del Gerro is a watchtower built in the 15th Century for the defence of Dénia. They decided to build it there because it offered an unparalleled wide view of the Mediterranean. Even now, after so many years, it is still a pleasure to visit.

Les Rotes
If the previous option still seems too far from the Mediterranean and you want to keep withing the sight and smell of the sea, the best option is to take the promenade Les Rotes . Throughout the tour you will find ideal spaces to stop and enjoy a break A perfect place, also, to fly a kite.
The Greenway
This road, where previously a northern bound train passed, has become one of the best places to escape from the city. Especially recommended is the greenway for those who like to take travel by bike. Along its route between fields and away from the roads, every few metres, picnic areas allow you to stop and have a bite to eat.
Camí de la Bota, 03700 Dénia
Les Marines
Picnics by the sea are always popular, so it is fair to talk about the other great coast of Dénia where you can do just this. The road of Marines is full of sandy beaches. In addition, the beaches are so extensive that you can easily find a corner where you can be away from everyone, if what you are looking for is tranquility.
Pinaret of La Xara
Moving away a little from Dénia, there is this idyllic picnic area of La Xara. It is a park that underwent major transformation in 2017 to become the leisure space it is today. El Pinaret has a picnic area, stone benches, public toilets and even a space to prepare barbecues.

Riurau de Benissadeví, Jesus Pobre
It is one of the most historic riuraus in the Marina Alta. It is an incredible place to be able to have a group picnic. Of course, if you are looking for a relaxed and intimate atmosphere, avoid going on Sundays, because that day, every week, the recommendable and bustling Mercat del Riurau is held.
